I have three little ones, one who has autism and is 5. This toy was ordered online from Target and got here in plenty of time for Christmas. We hid it from the kids, but assembled it the night before Christmas. It went together really well. I applied the decals before assembling. Nothing was missing and it took about an hour, but I was taking my time. I only needed help once and that was to place the dish rack. It is sturdy, compact and gives lots and lots of pretend play. The kids have been at it for hours and we have been playing with them too. It is pretty cool. I am glad that I didn't get the larger unit because this one just fits in our kitchen well.

This product shipped super fast and I am so pleased with it. My two year old soon to be preemie just loves it. The only down fall I have is she wanted to play with it and didn't even want to eat her dinner and lord knows she need to eat on every set....LOL I could have asked for a better product after about an hour and a half my husband and his brother concluded this product and it worked perfect, we had to put my daughter up in her high chair to over see that things were done in order and once they finished she couldn't wait to get down to play she played for a good hour and by then dinner was ready and I couldn't get her to come to the table I had to threatened to put it up and finally she ate and once she was finished she was back at it. I was trying to decided between this one and the deluxe and I am so glad that I went with this one it the perfect size and the pot and pans make noise when you place them on the isles, the light over the sink worked perfect as well as the microwave and the telephone. We couldn't have asked for a better product. Thanks Step 2 and BabyAge for making our dreams come true, we are truly happy campers

19 month old loves this car! The floor in the bottom is a wonderful plus as she doesn't quite want to pedal herself around yet. Assembly wasn't as bad as the other reviews made it out to be. The only 2 difficult parts were the back 2 blue beams. No pre-drilled holes but my husband drilled them and it was fine.
