It is just the perfect fit for a 4 year old. It can be taken from grandma's home back to her home very easily. It is so very cute the colors are perfect.

I bought this for my 2 year old, so I wanted something smaller than the average dollhouse and strong enough to hold up to some rough play. This is perfect! The walls and floors are made of thick but very lightweight material, and have some kind of stain-resistant cover that seems easy to clean. The furniture is all very chunky and easy for little hands.
It was also a piece of cake to assemble. My 5 year old helped put it together, and the only thing we needed a screwdriver for was the little latch that holds the "yard" wall shut. I thought I would need to reinforce it with glue, but once we snapped in the final pieces (the 3 green shapes on each side) I trust this dollhouse could be thrown or dropped without coming loose at all.

I bought this for my 2 year old, and none of the furniture seems small enough to be a choking hazard. The only pieces small enough to swallow would be the pink handle and latch that hold the large wall closed. If you assemble the dollhouse before gifting it, those pieces don't come off and won't be an issue.

My daughter, age 4, uses "Calico Critters" with this dollhouse, and it works perfectly. Both the dolls and accessories are the correct proportions for the house. She received this as a gift for Christmas, and has been playing with it several times a day since then. The included furniture definitely makes it more attractive to her. I appreciate the smaller size of the house, which doesn't take up necessary space in MY house.
