This is a nice quality gate. Sturdy, Stout, and highly recommended. No drilling required but I elected to screw the end caps into the jam to eliminate any possibility of the top pads from any slippage. This is an awesome gate but note that extensions are not included. They are sold seperate from 39" on up to 57".
