As an OB nurse with carseat education, I have learned that the use of items not tested in a car seat are not advised. The extra padding provided with this bunting will collapse upon car impact causing the secure infant straps to loosen causing release of the baby or too much movement which can cause much injury. They are very cute-but not to be used.

As a concerned father I have researched this product a lot and found that it is very safe! The company had several tests done and all of them passed with flying colors. I used this product with my son last winter and it was the best thing I have ever used.
