| | | User Reviews for Back N Belly Contoured Body Pillow | | | Write your own review | | | A Must For Preggo Women~ | I wish I had this with my 1st pregnancy!I only had a regular body pillow that I would have to turn over with me each time I rolled over.So annoying :) This is so wonderful. Is it big? Yes! But once you crawl into it its wonderful. When I have to get up I just flop the one side off the bed and no problem. It really has helped with my Sciatic nerve problem with my hip when I sleep. Iv not woken up in pain since I got it.(& being pregnant we know we are all in pain lol) It supports my stomach, hips, and neck.It does crowd my husband, but who cares, hes not caring this child.. :) So if you can get past the bulkyness of it you will be so glad!
| | By: Lacey 11/13/2007 | | | Huge and uncomfortable material | The material used is bouncy and hard to sleep with your head on it. Additionally the pillow is huge. There is barely room for my husband on our king size bed. Dont waste your money on this. I'm not sure who is putting the glowing reviews but I totally disagree. | | By: Marla B. 8/19/2007 | | | not even pregnant! | This pillow was bought for my cousin while she was pregnant. she didn't like the U shape it had and preferred her regular body pillow she has, and since I kept finding the pillow on the floor, i decided to try it, because I love to cuddle. well this pillow is perfect for me! i always feel like there is someone right behind me, and I can still wrap myself around the other side. and I have also realized my arm is not numb when I wake up anymore, and my back doesn't hurt either. I think i am just going to have to buy one for myself when she moves! I positively love it!
| | By: Kaicie 6/28/2007 | | | One of the best things I ever bought for my bad back!!! | I bought this during my pregnancy but I also have a herniated disc. My daughter is now 20 months but I still cannot ever have a painfree night of sleep without this pillow. God knows what it does but no other pillow works and anybody who spends nights after nights of pain would understand what I am talking about. This is the most effective painkiller I have! I am sure I would buy many more of these pillow throughtout my life! | | By: Manju 5/10/2007 | | | AWESOME | I will never sleep without this pillow again. My husband actually wants one for himself! | | By: shayshay7043 2/18/2007 | | | What idiot designed this 'washable, removable' cover? | Sure, the cover is removable and washable all right, but just try to get it back on. Instead of putting the opening at the top, wide end, they opted to put openings in each of the small ends. It's impossible to stuff back in! | | By: Cathy 11/19/2006 | | | Great Product! | I have been using this pillow for months now due to severe discomfort throughout much of my pregnancy. The only complaint, which we knew ahead of time, is that the pillow is so big that there is barely room for my partner, who is small, in our queen size bed. However, I still highly recommend it because it is worth it in our case. I could not get comfortable in bed until we bought this & I won't give it up now that I am in my third trimester. | | By: Book Wormy 10/18/2006 | | | Worth it | I bought this for my wife and she absolutly loves it. She is able to get a good night sleep, everynight. Great product | | By: George, Boston, MA 1/1/2004 | | | Probably the best pillow you can buy! | Everyone is different in their sleep comfort and no pillow is perfect. It took me some time when I first got the pillow to find my method. (Believe me, I am very picky about sleep positions.) I lay the pillow with the open end at my head and touch the ends together. Then I lay my regular pillow just over the top. I kind of snuggle in between on my side with my legs on top of the bottom end of the pillow. It tooks a few nights to get used to sleeping with my legs slightly elevated and extra cusion under my neck, but now I love it. It is comparable to sleeping before pregnancy. I wish I would have had it with my first child!! Getting used to sleeping with a growing middle is a challenge. I really think this pillow provides the best support. Give it a few weeks and some different position tries and find what is best for you! | | By: Kristen, OH 1/1/2004 | | | Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow: Do Not Breach the Pillow Wall! | My husband ordered the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow online, and when he arrived home to meet the pillow in person, he was horrified to see how large it was. (My guess is he really didn't study the pictures all that closely.) Once we both got in bed with the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow, we realized that we'd added a third party to our marriage, and my husband wasn't at all pleased. I'm currently pregnant with my fourth child (and please save the comments, as I had a tubal ligation after number three that failed), and all three previous children have been large. I have problems almost from the get-go with my back and hips and pelvis, making a comfortable night's sleep nearly impossible. Since the arrival of the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow, I've come the closest I can remember to a comfortable night's sleep. Using the pillow provides all-around support; you can tuck part of the pillow under your bump, place it between your knees, and then the other side of the U is up against your back, providing the perfect side-lying position that all doctors seem to recommend and most moms seem to find nearly impossible to sleep in. And while I haven't used the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow to breastfeed yet, I have used it for eating in bed, and it has a nice amount of support that I'm thinking will make positioning much easier after my upcoming c-section than the raft of pillows I usually try to muster up. I've even noticed that the arm numbness I'd grown accustomed to waking with has disappeared! I do have a few tiny complaints about the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow that keep it from being the perfect pillow, however. One is that the cover it arrives with is one of those very low thread-count versions, and for a neurotic "must have a cold pillow" person like me, it just doesn't cut it. I have, however, found a solution by taking a queen-sized flat sheet we had lying around and wrapping it around the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow. It does a much better job of keeping cool with the higher thread count, and I sleep much better with the extra sheet. I may end up converting the sheet to a pillow case at some point, but for now, it's a workable solution. The second issue is that, well, the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow is essentially a moat of pillow. As my husband has pointed out, by the time I get all set up with my Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow and the rest of my pillow minions, there is about 1/3 of our king-sized bed left for him. Snuggling has become all but obsolete, and we generally live with holding hands over the pillow wall once I'm all set up. However, neither of these two things even comes close to making me reconsider the Leachco Back 'n Belly Contoured Body Pillow, and it's been so fantastic at helping me get a good night's rest that I'm angry I didn't spend the money to get a pillow like this (or similar) with any of my previous pregnancies. | | By: Daisy, USA 1/1/2004 | | | Ignorance is BLISS! | This is my first pregnancy. Needless to say, when I found out I was pregnant with twins my "uncomfortable" alarm went off. I remember how huge my aunt was with her twins and I wanted to avoid as much pain as possible. This information coupled with one of my best friends comments at her 6 1/2 month mark made me seek out the best "bed-time" companion I could find. I read many reviews on different pillow products: leg-pillows, full body pillows and the like. Some women on my twin chat site (pregnancyweekly.com) were using 5,6 or 7 pillows to sleep. Now that I have it, I can't believe how many women haven't bought this pillow. I traveled in my 6th month and had to stay in a double size bed in a hotel with my husband. Unfortunately he is a large man and my Back 'n Belly slightly overlapped the half-way mark. In our king at home, it only takes up about 1/3 of the bed, because I like to keep the two sides close together and nuzzle in between them. This gives great support to my belly. Anyway, those 5 days were extremely uncomfortable. The "luxury" down pillows didn't support the space between my legs very well and every once in a while I woke up with a pillow on the floor. I had to use 5 pillows to equal the comfort of my Back 'n Belly. Here is the breakdown: two for my head, one under my waist and two between my legs. Every time I woke up the pillows had moved and I go to the bathroom a lot. So, every time I got back in bed I had to reorganize and re-plot and use my sleepy little brain. I still woke up with hip pains. I don't think the leg pillows were thick enough. In conclusion, those few days made me worship my pillow SO much! And I am SO much bigger and more uncomfortable now (more than 7 months). It's gotten to the point where I will go lay in my pillow whenever I don't feel well. It always makes me feel better. By the way, washing the cover is easy - getting it back on is a little tricky, but not hard. I like the feel of the cover against my skin. No complaints on that! Thanks and good luck in your shopping efforts. | | By: Amelia, Pasa Robles 1/1/2004 | | | Dissapointment of Pillow | I had read all of the great reviews of the pillow and how comfortable it was, so trusting others I purchased the full body pillow. I must admit I was dissapointed because the pillow is just too big. It was hard to "climb" into the pillow once it was on the bed, and once I was snuggled within the pillow I felt confined and like I couldn't move. I just could not get comfortable and tossed the pillow to the floor after 15 or 20 minutes of use. I returned the pillow and purchased just the single-sided body pillow, which I LOVE! I would not recommend the full-body pillow unless of course you like being confined. | | By: B.Nickerson 1/1/2004 | | | Awesome pillow | I am currently 3 months pregnant with my second child. When I was pregnant the first time I would have to fight every night to find a comfortable position and then by the time I got comfortable I had to get up and pee! Well as soon as I found out about this pregnancy I knew that I needed to get a maternity pillow early before I got too uncomfortable and this pillow is awesome. I think even after the pregnancy it will still be kept handy. My husband is a little jealous, and I told him that if he wants one then he needs to get pregnant and I don't feel sorry for him at all :-) | | By: T.J.L., FPO, AP, US 1/1/2004 | | | Write your own review and start sharing your opinion with others. | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
