This item also comes with a special recording cable so you can email and share all of these special moments with your family and friends. This set includes a prenatal experience guide to help you understand the sounds you're hearing, so you can better connect with your unborn baby. The Graco listener comes with two sets of earbuds, so you and your partner can listen to your baby together. This item does require one 9-volt battery, that is not included. The package clearly states that, "amplifies baby's natural sound starting late in your second trimester."
I also read online that you can use the device at 16 weeks to avoid disapointments. My wife is 13 weeks along & she will open her gift on Christmas, which is about the 16 week mark.
