This 24-inch extension is constructed of strong tubular steel and intended for use with Model Number G20 Safeway Gate or Model G60 Elongate. For the Safeway Gate, this extension is for use when openings are 43 1/2" to 66". For the Elongate, each extension increases the width in two-foot increments, and a maximum of four 24-inch extensions are recommended to expand the Elongate up to 13 feet.

We bought an Evenflo wooden gate for top of the stairs. It looked fine but it didn't feel very sturdy, since we can rattle it. So, we opted to pay for the more expensive Kidco gate. The metal construction definitely feel sturdier. I feel more comfortable putting it on top of the stairs instead of a wooden gate. The extension we brought for it works great too. Installing it was easy. I did it myself in less than an hour. One thing though, definitely use plastic anchors for drywall installation (anchors not included).
