Dream Baby Swing Closed Gate
The Dream Baby Swing Closed Gate is versatile enough that it can be used in any area of the home including doorways and top or bottom of stairs. I knew these gates were perfect before I bought them as I was able to use them at a friends house who also has a 1 year old like me. I bought them for the stairs, 1 at the top, 1 at the bottom. I wanted something I knew was secure for the staircase but convenient since people would be passing through frequently, and without having to step over them. You don't have to screw the mounts into the walls because there's a double sided adhesive that you attach at the pressure mounted ends. Plus I have an old house with original wood work and trim so I can adjust the tops differently than the bottoms to account for the trim without sacrificing a secure hold. They are perfect and keep my son from crawling up or falling down the stairs.

We are not parents ourselves, but rather "aunt and uncle" to 5 infants and toddlers who love to spend time at our house and I would love for their parents to be able to enjoy themselves instead of having to constantly play goalie at the bottom of our stairs! However, we'd like to be able to put them up and take them down on very short notice and with ease. Thoughts?

These gates are fairly easy to install/remove and can be done by one person. The gates sit in cups/brackets which are held in place either by friction pads or by being screwed to the wall. Screwing into the wall provides a stronger anchor but the cup will remain when the gates are removed; Fortunately the cups are not very thick. I strongly recommend dry fitting the gates to the stairs first before attaching the cups. The initial installation requires the most time but, once the gates are installed, removal and subsequent installations can be completed within minutes. The Dream Baby website contains some videos of the installation process in the DreamBaby TV section which may be of interest to you. Hope this helps and my apologies for the delayed response.

PS - before ordering, check that the height of the gates can be accommodated by the stairs and that the hand rail does not interfere. We ran into that situation at the top of our stairs.

We are Grand Parents I bought 4 gates . The first one took me 5 minutes to install the next 3 took me 2 minutes. I have take up and down and I can do each gate in under 2 minutes . VERY VERY Simple.
