Anonymous asked: How soon can I get this item?
Staff Answer: This item will be shipped the same day or next business day when you place your order. Transit time can take anywhere from 1-7 business days. 6/8/2012
Brandi Martinez asked: How does it fit on uneven surfaces? I have walls that are not parallel to each other, if one is at a 45degree angle from the other wall, would this product work? I'm hoping it has an adjustable part where it connects to the wall?
thanks!
Staff Answer: This gate will work with walls that are not parallel to each other, however, the floor surface needs to be flat. With quick fold collapsible sides, installation, removal, and storage are quick and easy and include a convenient carry bag. This pressure mounted gate is 27" tall and expands from 38" to 60" wide, fitting uneven and extra wide openings. This pressure mounted retractable baby gate requires no tools or hardware for installation, and is easy to move from one opening to another. This gate is an excellent choice for anyone with walls that are on an angle!

Adam Oliver: I need a break from my child. This should keep him in the other room. 1/20/2013

Janis K asked: How does this gate open and close? How does it "retract" so you can go in and out of it? (I would use this at the bottom of a stairway.
Jon Correll: It opens and close by turning the four "knobs" that are at the end of each horizontal bar. These knobs will extend or retract the bars so that they are either pressed tightly against the doorway, keeping the gate in place by the tension on the rod, or when opening the gate, so that the tension is released and the gate will come free from the doorway.

Essentially, this is not something you want to open and close repeatedly, since it takes some amount of work to get it fit tightly in the doorway. Stepping over it may be your best option if it is a high-traffic area. I think it's use is intended more to "block off" an area temporarily if you are in a house you don't need or can't use a permanent gate in, like a family member's house over the weekend, or a rental house for a week of vacation.

If you are planning to use this as a permanent baby gate, I suggest buying something that attaches to the wall. Also, depending on how big/strong your child is, it may be a hazard - our 18 month-old son was able to pull this down by hanging on it. You have to REALLY crank the knobs if you want to get it attached firmly enough that it won't budge with some application of force by a child who can walk/climb.

Bottom line - I wouldn't use this on the top of a staircase, but for doorways or the bottom of stairs, it will do the trick, provided that your child doesn't try to climb over it or hang from it, and assuming you don't need to open and close it repeatedly. Hope that helps. 5/13/2013
