You are correct! I bought this crib in August and absolutely love it despite not having a dust ruffle. It is a very very solid crib and the wood is beautiful (I bought the natural finish). You also do not need a conversion kit when it comes time to switch to a toddler bed. I hope this helps!

No. The bottom of the crib is flush to the edges leaving no room for a regular dust ruffle. Also, I have the black crib and the paint has already chipped in one spot. I like the look of the crib, but it will only last thru 4 years old.

Yes, there are sufficient directions. Set up was surprisingly hassle free. It is a beautiful strong baby crib. I was impressed with how sturdy it was. Like all the 3 in one cribs the two height adjustments are okay. That was my concern as well. But it seems that is the way of the crib world today. I feel comfortable with the height.
The free shipping was awesome. The popular baby store was offering free shipping to the store but Baby Age offered free shipping to my door.It came in a day whereas, the other place said pick-up in 7 -10 days. I would definitely order from Baby Age again in the future. I am very pleased with speed of delivery and the product. Can't find the oak color into many places. Don't hesitate!

I couldn't figure out a way to get a crib skirt to work. I just saved myself some money and didn't get one. The bed is pretty low and also it is attractive so you really don't need one.

Unfortunately, no because like you said the mattress base won't allow it to hang. After having ours for about 8 months now I don't even think it needs one.

Correct, the design will not allow it to hang. There is a lattice that holds the mattress in its highest position as seen in the picture and at its lowest the mattress sits on the panels that tou can see in that void under the mattress in the picture. Regardless of the two positions you can not put a skirt on unless you get creative. I like the way it looks with out a skirt. It was one if the things that made us purchase it. It's a great crib and very sturdy. We gt it in black.

This crib can grow with your child. It does have a 2-Position solid wood mattress base that can lower the mattress. When your child is ready to move into a toddler bed, it can be converted. It does have a low profile design which allows shorter mom's and dad's to reach and comfort their baby without straining or reaching to far.
