Customer Q&A

Michelle Stranyiczki asked: Anyone know how good the recline is on this seat? We travel a lot and need a safe carsseat like this one but with a deeper recline.
Mindy Butler I: I have only used it rear facing once. We liked it but my baby was not newborn he was 6mo. Anyway that said it looked the same as infant seats are supposed to be but it all depends on who and how it is getting installed. I would think its a good recline with head support maybe? We travel often as well and this is the seat everyone has been most comfortable in. 7/25/2013
Barry Kennedy: I bought if s a gift to my adult daughter. She says that it reclines in the same way as every other car seat. Hope that helps. 7/26/2013
Barry Kennedy: More for Michelle S from my adult daughter. "the recline is based on installing it properly. So if it's properly installed it will have the same recline as all convertible carseats." and "it also has a tether for rear-facing making it easier to get the proper recline. That's a nice feature that few carseats have." 7/26/2013
Milca Adler: I've only had it for the past weekend, but we were traveling with it for almost 20 hours by car. I didn't find the recline particularly good, but my son is 4 1/2 and didn't nap. 8/27/2013
Milca Adler asked: Does anyone else have a problem with the child complaining the seat is hard and uncomfortable?
Barry Kennedy: Milca,
The 14 month old girl has no complaints. Yes, she doesn't have the language skills to articulate a complaint. But she has ridden in for long rides, even for 6 hours (with a few few stops to stretch her legs). 8/27/2013
Kathryn Smith: My child doesn't complain that it's uncomfortable. We also have a Britax Boulevard that definitely has more padding/support around the head. I've noticed that when my child falls asleep in the Britax, his head doesn't move much when we turn. In the Radian, his head definitely flops from shoulder to shoulder and his neck is bent at a sharper angle when he falls asleep. I like the Britax car seat better simply because of the additional padding but the Radian was the only car seat we could find that was narrow enough to go three across in her very compact car. 8/27/2013
Enrique Sanchez-Armass: We just went on a 12 hour road trip each way and our 7 yr old daughter did not complain about the seat. 9/17/2013
Michelle Stranyiczki asked: How good is the recline on this? We travel a lot and need a seat that has a deeper recline.
Barry Kennedy: Michelle,
I asked my adult daughter and she says she has no idea how to answer your question. Sorry. 6/25/2013
Sarah KAMIENNY: I don't know if there is an option to recline the chair, but the way we have it in our car is the way we received it and there's not much of a recline. The picture is not deceiving, it pretty much goes straight up. 6/26/2013
Enrique Sanchez-Armass: The back of the seat doesn't actually recline. Rather, the bottom has an extension that can be "popped out" to raise the front edge of the seat's bottom about 2.5 inches, which is enough for our daughter to nap without her head drooping forward. See page 29 of the Radian R100 manual online in the diono dot com website. 7/17/2013
Anonymous asked: I have a 96 toyota camery so will need to use the lap belt. Does this car seat install easily and tightly into old cars?
Staff Answer: When using this seat as the booster, it will fit securely with the lap belt. When you are using this as a rear facing car seat however, the you will need the LATCH system to keep this item in place securely. This seat features expandable sides and a longer seat bottom for leg support and comfort, as well as 2 recline positions, and 5 shoulder and 3 buckle positions for custom fit. If you were looking for a booster seat that will be compatible with only the lap belt in your car, the Evenflo AMP high back booster is an excellent booster, that will also grow with your child. This seat is also for children that are 30-100 lbs and up to 57? tall, features a 6-position height adjustment, and the pad removes easily for machine-washing. The link below will take you directly to the Evenflo AMP booster:
