5.00 rating great car seat by Lisa, Detroit, MI on January 1, 2004
We bought this car seat 3 years ago when my 4 1/2 hear old came out of his infant seat. I wanted a Britax for my car so gave my husband this seat. I preferred the Britax's 5 point harness initially, it didn't tangle and was an easier buckle to use. However, my son is now 47 pounds and in a winter coat the Britax straps will not expand anymore and we can barely buckle it with his coat on even though he is supposed to be able to fit in it until he is 65 pounds. I don't think this will happen as he is also approaching the height limit. We now prefer the Alpha Omega as we are still able to use it as a seat belt fastening booster seat which we have been using for some time since he was 30 lbs and he can use this up to 80 or 100lbs. I can't find the manual right now to look. We don't have the strap problem with the Alpha Omega because we use the seat belt which is infinitely expandable unlike the 5 point harness which can only get so big on the Britax Marathon.
5.00 rating i don't care what the naysayers say by Mom, FL on January 1, 2004
This is one truly amazing seat! It has all the amenities you'll ever need. My daughter couldn't be happier in it. I'm really glad I went the extra mile and upgraded to this seat. The recline function is easy to use, even with your child in the seat. The latch itself is fairly simple. It's not rocket science, you just push a button. The armrests, while not necessary for a younger child, are a nice addition that can be folded up when not in use. The headrest gives a nice cushion with an added bonus of a soft pillow that velcros on. Even while sleeping my daughter is comfortable. She's not tipped forward like many people have said their carseats do. The side head guard works like a charm. I'm most impressed with the padding on this seat. There is not one spot that isn't cushioned nicely. I wish my car seat was as comfortable as this car seat :D
5.00 rating ready to buy a second one by Mom, CA on January 1, 2004
I plan on getting a second one of these, i got one for me daughter works just fine, the base can come off if you have a small car, so it made it fit in our jetta. not our 2nd daughter is getting to need a new seat, and i plan on getting the same one, and i have never had trouble with the latch, we have one car that has it and one that doesnt, and the one that doesnt, i have found this car seat is easy to pull the seat belt through the slot in the back, unlike a friend of mines with that evenflo one that is cheaper, plus my daughter looks way more comfortable then her son.
5.00 rating well worth the money by Happy Mommy, NY on January 1, 2004
I have two children and one on the way. We own two of these seats. My 3 year old can latch the middle and bottom latches all by herself. She is not strong enough to unlatch the bottom one which is perfect because I don't want her to be able to completely unbuckle herself anyways. We have a two door very small cavalier and this set reclines rear facing between the two bucket seats just fine. It also works well in our pontiac grand prix. It is very sturdy and easy to adjust. I highly recommend this seat! The only pain is when your kid pukes and you've got to tear it all apart and wash it. Even then it's not so bad.
4.00 rating good seat for the money by Crystal, Buda, TX on January 1, 2004
most convertible seat work better the longer you can wait.i got this seat for a 6 month old and it works great.ican use this seat for my daughter or my nieces because i have more than one convertible car seat, so i get my moneys worth and it is easy to adjust for another child because there is no rethreading straps.not a horrible seat rear facing if you set the straps and leave them there but if you feel you need to always loosen and tighten them then you will need to expect a little work by the way if you plan on buying the evenflo triumph plan on buying a second seat because they are not made for tall kids
3.00 rating i give this a b- by Lucy, Amarillo, TX on January 1, 2004
This car seat is alright the 5-Point harness is a neat feature. And it reclines back. However using it rear facing takes up a lot of space, so if you do not have a larger vechicle to accomidate this big seat. I highly recomand a car seat smaller than this one.
