The reason for my purchasing this was to keep my dogs in my kitchen while I'm at work. The heigth is perfect, they can't jump it :). It looks great and is sturdy. I would recommend to anyone interested in this gate.
Grandma By

Bought this for my 6 week old grandson. He LOVES it! Get's a big smile everytime we put him in it ... like "Yes" I get to play! Music is either lively for play or can switch to soothing when he falls asleep. Can play loud or soft too. He lives the vibration too when he's sleeping. Do need to put the book in front of the feet right now, but it still make the music go off! Will buy another for my best friends pregnant daughter. All my daughter's friends now want one!
Super fast shipping as well. Thanks Baby Age!
The First Years Sterilizer By

I love this product. I sterilize everything from all sizes of bottles and pacifiers. I've had this for 4 months and I haven't had any problems with it. I highly recommend this if you are someone who has no time to actually boil water.

Nice gate, didn't last long..... By
January 1, 2004
We purchased this gate in December 2005. Our twin boys started crawling and we needed a gate for the top of the stairs. This gate worked great for about 5 months and then the knobs broke. Our friends have the same gate, and their knobs broke as well. There are many reviews on here stating that the knobs broke after one year, ours didn't even last 1/2 that long. We don't use it excessively, so I'm not sure why ours didn't hold up. I called The First Years company and they claim the gate has a 1 year warranty. She told me to mail in both knobs, my receipt (or legible copy showing date purchased) and they will send us replacement knobs. She also gave me a file # to reference. The lady stated about 10 times (very rudely!!) that we MUST have our receipt or they won't send us the new knobs. I told her over and over I have it right here in front of me, I guess she didn't believe me. So we're sending it in, we'll see if they really send us the replacements..... If anyone has their gate break within the 1 year warranty period, call 1-800-533-6708 (which is the number on the back of the gate instruction book) and they should cover it under the warranty. Just be sure to KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!!
AWESOME GATE! By

When they say this is easy for adults but hard for kids they're not kidding. This gate is easy enough for my 8 year old to open easily. Yet it is tough enough that my 1 and half year old can't open it no matter how hard she tries. My toddler can't even open it when she is jumping on it with both feet on it. Another thing I love about this gate is that it is hands free so this gives me the convience to open the gate even when my hands are full. Another feature this gate has when installed correctly is there is a ramp to stop children from tripping over the gate on the edge of the gate. This gate was also easy to install even with the extension kit. I couldn't intall a crib without messing it up yet I installed this. So yes this is a tremendous gate.

We're so happy with this gate, we're ordering another for our other room. The picture in the listing doesn't do the gate justice. It's also a snap to put together. Well worth the money.
Versatile, effective, secure and simple (once you install) By

The ability to adjust top and bottom rails of the hinge side to different widths to accomodate molding or other uneven surfaces is a huge plus. I have thick molding and needed something with the freedom to adjust. This alone makes it a perfect fit for our 80 year old house and its stairway. This gate comes with a template, nice touch, as long as you have even and level wall surfaces to deal with. I don't! But after putting it together once, and then taking it apart again to make the adjustments I felt it needed, I was able to install this gate in our difficult stairway. The instructions recommend installing into wood or studs, and due to the plaster used on my walls and inability to find a stud inline with the other side of the gate, I have actually installed it at a slight angle without compromising the safety of the gate.Great quality product, several ways you can install to accomodate your needs. Instructions are complete and pictures detail very well. The gate can be opened with one hand, but utilizes a push-in-and-turn dial, similar to a child-safe medicine bottle.
