I have a 4 year and 17 month old granddaughters and the oldest one has had a desk before to use in my craft room but now the other one wants to be at it when we are crafting so I have looked for a new one and this one is just perfect and she will be able to use it for a long time. I have other step2 items and I just love them. They are very durable and really hold up great. I have recommened them to my family as they are just starting to have grandchildren. I ordered this desk after researching all the options and this turned out to be exactly what we needed to contain all our messy art materials. My almost 4 year old LOVES to paint, and I want to encourage it, but I'm also a stickler for neatness. He is proud to have his own desk, and has no problem understanding that this is where the painting happens. It is also very easy to put together (I did it myself...holes are predrilled) and clean up.
