I love this product!! It was the only one that I could find that is pressure mounted that would allow enough extensions to fit a 67" opening. A bonus was that I went to the KidCo website and it told me exactly what pieces I needed. It made it SO easy!! It is sturdy and easy to assemble.
4.00 rating Strong gate, with a weakness By

This is a robust gate which has held up well for over a year now to our twin toddler boys. However, the latch mechanism has a button on one side which must be pressed to unlock the latch. If you forget to press the button and force it open anyway, it will break the lock. We warned our friends and babysitters about this oddity, but one of our sitters forgot and broke it anyway by forcing it open. I was very annoyed ... but luckily, since we continued to use the gate, over the course of a couple of weeks the button slipped back into place and now the gate can be locked again. But I could not MAKE the button go back into place; it had to do it on its own. Most of the time we close the gate but do not lock it, and this works well enough with our two year-olds, who still haven't quite figured out how to open it.

It was a bit uncomfortable with the pressure mount system until we installed the gate. It is very sturdy - I did a few tests of my own by bouncing a basket ball against it and tugging and pulling on the gate. It did not budge and I'm very happy with the product

This is our second KidCo gate and at this point I don't think that I would consider another manufacturer for safety gates. Honestly, I don't know what some of the other manufacturers are thinking when they design their gates. We bought this gate after buying and returning three other gates (all different brands). We use this gate to keep our 1 1/2 year old in his room without having to close the bedroom door. It is pressure mounted so we did not have to do any drilling and can move it if we need to, although it is not designed to be moved frequently. It probably took me all of 10-15 minutes to install. It is solid and will not budge from the door once installed. It is a two step process to open it, but that is what keeps the little guy from figuring it out. The only drawbacks I see are the price and that it will partially lock shut when my son plays with it if I leave it open and then he gets upset. Oh, and they failed to put in instructions in the box, but I was able to easily download and print them from their website. But definitely BY FAR the best gate we have bought, in fact we are off to buy another one to keep him from destroying the office.

We rent in a house in Brooklyn that is over 100 years old and were told by our landlord we could not install safety gates with hardware into the original banisters. We tried several different baby gates before we came across the greatest gate of all, the Kidco Center Gateway. I was hesitant to purchase another gate, especially when I saw the $75 price tag. But I got home and was able to install this gate quickly and easily and for the first time could remove all obstacles from in front of the stairs. The gate comes with two extensions should you have a wider area than the gate covers. The directions were not very clear, but assembly was easy -- just insert plastic pieces and insert screws into plastic for pressure mounting against walls/rails. Then just adjust on the wall/banister where you need the gate. Since each pressure piece is adjusted separately, this gate is excellent for uneven spaces (baseboards, etc.). And, there is a doorway that opens so you don't have to remove the gate every time you need to get through.

I purchased this gate just recently because I have a eleven month old son who is always trying to climb up the stairs. I purchased an inexpensive gate several months ago and it wouldn't even mount properly. There are several reasons why I am so pleased with this gate: 1). It's pressure mounted so there are no holes in my walls.2). Each of the pressure mounts can be adjusted individually. What I mean by that is each pressure mount twists forward until it reaches the wall. The reason this was so important for me was because my home has old wood work and the baseboards are almost seven inches high and about an inch thick. If each of the pressure mounts were not separately adjustable, then the gate would meet at the baseboard, but would not be able to touch the wall. This gate handles that dilemma beautifully. 3). It's extremely durable and sturdy. My son grasps onto it and shakes it violently and it doesn't budge. And because it's made of metal, there are no worries about splinters and cracking.4). It's attractive and comes in different colors. We choose white and it looks great. 5). It was wide enough that I could mount it at the bottom landing of our stairway without an extension. There are extension kits available if you need them though. 6). Finally, I like the swing door feature. I can use the gate with one hand so it's convenient when I have my son in the other hand. The handle is also very easy to open and close with one hand.I know this is a lot of info but when I was searching for a gate, these are the types of things I wanted to know. I highly recommend this gate to anyone looking for one for the bottom of their stairs or a doorway.

It was a breeze to install...it has 4 pressure pads on each corner that just get pushed against the doorway and the gate also has a swinging door in the center that is very sturdy but easy to open so we can go into the room whenever we want. This is working so well that we're going to buy at least one more to keep the cats happy and the puppy out of trouble. The only concern I have is the gate isn't very tall and when the puppy turns into a dog, he will likely be able to hop right over the gate. But otherwise, this gate has impressed me. The strength of construction is truly impressive

This is second time I have purchased this specific gate. Had one for over a year and love it. Hard enough to open so my 3 yr old cant do it, but easy enough for me. New one just over $65 so received a very good deal on it. Easy setup. My wife loves the choices of colors: and she chose the white over black and platinum.
