We were in desperate need of something that would keep our eighteen month old safe after we unexpectedly had to convert his crib. This product is just right! He's not had a problem with climbing out safely since we installed it!

We have this gate at the bottom of our stairs to keep our avid climber downstairs. It is very securely mounted. The install looked easy enough (I watched). The latch is easy to operate, but you do have to remember to close it after you. It makes a quiet "click" when closed. No way my daughter can open it. This gate is much better than other hardware mounted gates we've purchased. (The angle mount version of this same gate has quieter hardware and is virtually silent if that's what you're looking for.) All in all, great gate!!

The coated steel components of the gate give you a good sense of security with this product. There are not an overwhelming number of parts to assemble and the photos in the assembly manual coordinate with the numbered steps in the instruction text. Wish all manuals were so easy to read. I made a wood collar for the banister post so screws would not damage the finished wood. It works well and matches the spindles on the stair rail.
