Wow...this is the best gate ever! I had 2 plastic tension gates before and with a 15 month old son, I knew I had to replace them, not only for my boy, but I was getting really tired of jumping over and moving those gates myself everytime I went up the stairs. So my search started. I read all the reviews for these gates and decided to order 2, one for the top and bottom of the stairs. OMG....these gates are a LIFE SAVER!! They are so easy to open and close, and installation is so easy and quick, even with using the screw brackets to the wall for the stairs. Another positive is that they are wide enough for some curvy hip girls like me. These gates are also really strong and quality built that my son can't pull them open and they are really tall enough he can't ever climb over them, which is great!! I highly recommend them to everyone, and can honestly say, they are the PERFECT GATE!!!ps- I'm actually getting ready to buy another gate for the hallway going into my dining room, thats how amazing these are!!

Definitely not the gate of the eighties - I got this gate after seeing and using it at my sisters. Easy to use even with a full load in your arms, well made, a great height.

quick to install. door opens both ways. nice polished steel quality. simple to use - my 6 yr and 7 yr old daughters easily open. bought for use with 11 month old son. I also bought the hallway gate with extensions.

We are using this gate at the bottom of our staircase and it works great. We purchased the bannister adaptors for the side and it fits snuggly. Just make sure you measure your opening as this and other gates have specific sizes for the gate itself as well as the included extensions. The dog respects the gate and stays downstairs when needed. We would highly recommend this gate to others.
