I bought this crib for my new grandson. It is an absolutely beautiful and well crafted crib. It is shiny and rich cherry color. The drawers glide extremely easy. The dressing table part is the perfect height. The only drawback is the mattress height of the crib is not adjustable and therefor if you are short (like my daughter), you will have to add something to raise the mattress up. No, the crib sides do not go down. It came well packaged and marked for assembly. We haven't used it yet but I am wondering how easily the finish will scratch. Overall, absolutely beautiful.

The mattress is quite low in the crib. My daughter is short and we had to add a frame under the mattress so she could reach our grandson. It will be great when Iour grandson gets bigger but as a newborn, it was to low for my short daughter. Also, the railing does not adjust.
