I love this portable car seat. I have two daughters under 2 1/2 and both of them use the portable seats. I keep one in the car for when I am taking care of my nephew, and my sister keeps one in her car for when she has one of my girls. They are totally safe and don't take up alot of room in the vehicle. It has my fuill recomendation.

Safety 1st makes a Tote N' GO U.S FAA approved car seat w/ 5 pt. harness system. It weighs less than 4 lbs and can be folded up and stored in your diaper bag! We used this for our St. Maarten trip for limo to and from airport and all travel within St. Maarten. It is the Safety 1st Tote N' Go DX portable car seat. Can't say enough good things about it!
3.00 rating Good for what it is by D.C., USA on January 1, 2004
I used these seats for my two children (1 & 3) during a 3-month trip to Japan. They're not a replacement for a standard child seat, but they are incredibly convenient if you're doing a lot of traveling by a mix of car and public transportation. INSTALLATION: The seats are difficult to install properly. You have to spend about 5 minutes getting the car's seatbelt tightly in place, and even then it is easy for the child's bottom to slide forward and loosen the grip somewhat. The child's body in general has a lot more freedom than in a standard car seat, but it's still better than a lap belt (especially for a 1-year old). Some cars have too long of a seat belt latch assembly to make the seat tight enough. It's hard to know in advance what cars will and won't work, but I've gotten the impression that older cars (8+ years) seem to be worse than newer ones. The harness does need to be sized to the child prior to installation. This sizing is rather difficult, so each child needs to have a dedicated car seat--you definitely won't want to adjust the harness every time you use it! COMFORT: The seat back also ends around the shoulders of your child, so they can't lean their head back on anything. Don't plan too many multi-hour drives with these--your kids will be very squirmy. SUMMARY: This seat is great for those times when you don't want to take a double stroller and two full-sized car seats on the subway. It definitely is safer than foregoing a car seat altogether; however, if you own a vehicle, don't even think about using it as your only car seat.
