I purchased this push toy for my 12 month old grandaughter and she loved it. It was loaned to my 11 month old grandaughter 6 months later. She loved it too, so I bought her one for her birthday as well. Kids love this; it's strudy and less likely to fall over than the plastic ones. Great toy/walker.

My baby is 10 months old and loves to pull himself up on anything within his reach but is not quite into "cruising," yet. We bought him this toy to get him interested in walking and he LOVES it!! He immediately took to it and loves to push it all over. When he's not pushing it he loves to sit down and play with the three wooden "spinners." Another plus that is since it is wood it doesn't scuff the baseboards (yay)! One great thing that we have done is brought it outside to the driveway so he has a long stretch to push it since he's not quite sure how to back-up or turn it around yet. This is one of the best made toys we have received thus far!

Although it doesn't roll easily on our 'mini-shag' carpet, our 7 month little guy will have time to gain the confidence before he starts pushing with gusto.
Overall, we are quite happy with the strong wooden quality of this product. It has the has the charm of a classic handcrafted heirloom.

We have another item similar to this but it has plastic wheels and it goes way too fast on our hardwood floors for my 2nd son who's learning to walk. The Alligator push toy is super cute, well built -- reminiscent of an old classic toy -- no cheap parts -- and it has a rubber strip on the wheels which really helps control the speed on hardwood floors. The clacking alligators are funny, but they are a little loud, but my son loves it! He smiles proudly like he's a big boy now!

Just for fun we placed our 10 month old behind this toy in a store and the next thing we knew she was strolling across the floor. It's the first step towards the first step!

My son won't leave this toy alone. He pushs it all around. It is very high quality - only the best from Melissa and Doug - I buy all of their products. High safety rating and very durable. Doesn't scratch walls either. We'd definitely recommend this item!
